Fresh Cookies, Fresh Start

Cookies are a wonderful thing, aren't they? There are so many ways to make even the most common Chocolate chip cookie. They can be cakey and soft, or sweet and crisp; you can make them big or small; thick or thin, eat them fresh out of the oven (or even before you put them in!).
The point is, there really isn't a right way to make a cookie. Each person has their own preference and that's okay.

So, my name is Hannah, and I'm an aspiring baker. (I realize the irony of this with the popularity of 13 Reasons Why). My dream is to open my own cake shop with my best friend, Echo, and share my passion and delicious cakes with the world! Now, I realize what I've made today is not cake, but cookies, but I like cookies, too, so....
I live in the Pacific Northwest, where the trees are green and rain falls often. I'm the youngest of two in a family of four and we all live together with our Beagle, Lucy.
I graduated high school 5 days ago and my summer is off to the races. I'm currently looking for a second job so I can work enough hours to make one of my tuition payments to George Fox University before fall semester. I'm going to study Business Management (so I can open my bakery). When I'm done with that I'm going to South Seattle College for Baking and Pastry.

So, I'm looking for a job, but I'm also starting to apply for work study jobs on campus in the fall which requires a lot of paperwork. My dad is pressing me to keep working on scholarships and I'm trying to figure out how to make time for everything.
I want to bake at least once a week this summer, start working out regularly (because those cupcakes really pack on), work 40 hours a week and still have time for my friends and family.
I'm just a little stressed.
So I bake. It's relaxing, and delicious. and I absolutely love it. That's what this blog is all about: Sharing my passion for baked goods with you.

So my first recipe is for... you guessed it... chocolate chip cookies!

Recipe adapted from Pinch of Yum.

Tell me how you like them!
