Baking Hiatus
Hi, everyone! Sorry for not posting in a while; I've been really busy recently.
As you know from my blog title I'm headed to college soon and I've been working a lot trying to earn money for tuition. Between that and trying to get everything ready for me to leave I have much less free time than I anticipated.
I haven't baked anything recently (except my grad party cake which I forgot to document....) but I wanted to update y'all on what's been going on.
I had my graduation party on the first and It was so amazing to see everyone who came. I made quite a few friends of the underclassmen in choir (especially Bel Canto) and I'm really going to miss them. And, as always, it was great to see so much of my extended family (shout out to my cousin Elizabeth 💖)
Anyway, the cake was a new recipe I hadn't tried yet, but it was really similar to the yellow cake I've done in the past (although I liked this one better). It was a white vanilla cake with chocolate buttercream. I wish the buttercream had been stiffer as it would have made decorating so much easier, but it still tasted delicious!
As you can see, I put a bunch of strawberries around this cake. I LOVE strawberries! They're absolutely amazing!
(Shout out to my boyfriend's parents, Jenn and Gene for the beautiful bouquet in the background!)
After the party I went on a rampant shopping spree for college stuffs. I gotta say: I. Love. Office Supplies. I'm pretty sure that's how I got my job at Office Depot. I think it's the illusion of productivity that is so attractive to me as a procrastinator, but either way I love the stuff!
I promise, when I get my dorm all set up I'll make a post showcasing all of my things 😊
Since then it's pretty much been work, work, work. I'm having to work as many hours as they'll give me to earn college money.
So, plans for the future.
Obviously, I'd like to bake more. I'm working with Jenn on a baking project for a vet clinic in a week or so that I'll share with you guys, but I'll try to squeeze in my own stuff, too. I'll be honest, though. I'm having a bit of "baker's block", if you will. I just don't know what I should bake next!
If you have any ideas or suggestions comment them below, or feel free to email me at frostedfoxbaker@gmail.com!
I love banana bread! Can you make banana cupcakes?
ReplyDeleteMe, too! I've had some interesting outcomes with banana cupcakes, but I'm planning to go on a baking journey to discover the best recipe!
